Acceptable Use Policy

Effective July 11, 2026

First Light is for building useful, honest software. This policy is part of our Terms of Service, and it applies to your use of the platform and to every app you build or publish with it.

1. Illegal or harmful content and activity

Do not use First Light to break the law, and do not build or publish apps that:

  • facilitate illegal activity;
  • exploit or endanger minors in any way — we report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities;
  • promote violence, or harass, threaten, or incite hatred against people;
  • infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights;
  • violate others’ privacy — collecting personal information without a lawful basis, stalking, or exposing private details.

2. Deception and fraud

Do not build or publish apps that:

  • impersonate a person or organization, or misrepresent who operates them;
  • phish for credentials or payment details, or collect information under false pretenses;
  • promote scams, pyramid schemes, or other fraud;
  • distribute malware or direct people to it;
  • send spam or help others send it.

3. Platform integrity

Do not:

  • probe, scan, or test the security of the Service or of apps you do not own, without our written permission;
  • interfere with the Service — overloading it, working around usage limits or billing, or accessing accounts, apps, or data that are not yours;
  • resell access to the platform without an agreement with us.

4. High-stakes uses

Apps built on First Light must not be relied on where a failure could cause serious harm — emergency response, medical diagnosis or treatment, and other life-critical uses — and must not present themselves as fit for those purposes. If your app operates in a regulated area, you are responsible for meeting the rules that apply to it.

5. Reporting and enforcement

If you find an app that violates this policy, tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. We may remove content, unpublish apps, suspend or terminate accounts, and notify authorities where appropriate. Where practical, we give notice and a chance to fix the problem; where harm is serious or ongoing, we act first.
